For season 4 Ricko has a brand new truck and yep thats right its a new Ford Ranger. While it’s fair to say this is the first Ford in Ricko’s garage for many years, he isn’t hating it too much let me tell you.

The Ranger is the 3.2L Turbo Diesel and this motor has been tuned thanks to the Torqit Chip, Pedal Torq and 3in Exhaust System. Cool air is delivered into the engine thanks to a TJM Airtec snorkel.

Keeping the panels straight on those long outback roads is the proven TJM Outback Frontal protection system complete with side bars, side steps and a RB6 rear bar. An Aeroklas Canopy and full set of Black Widow drawers keeps all Ricko’s gear in order and thanks to the team from Spinifex Manufacturing there is even a custom battery box in the tub that holds a huge 160AH Lead Crystal Battery from the team at Betta Batteries.

When it comes to recovery gear Ricko has gone all out, up front is the TJM Torq Winch with synthetic rope and in the back is a full TJM recovery kit along with a TJM High Lift Jack and Air compressor.

You might think Ricko’s a bit scared of the dark when you see his lighting setup. Up front is a pair of Great White LED 220 Spread Beams and on the roof a long distance Great White LED Lightbar. Down the sides of the canopy are a number of smaller Thunder Auto work lights that are controlled through switches in the canopy.

Underneath the Ranger Ricko is running a 2in Tough Dog Suspension lift kit with foam cell shocks all around. The rear leaf pack has been boosted to a constant 500kg pack due to the towing duties this season and of course BFG KM2 tyres on Boss Wheels are a no-brainer!

Up on top is a pair of Yakima platform racks and an Oztent Foxwing Awning to go with Ricko’s stash of Oztent chairs and camping gear stashed in the canopy.

Inside there is a Growl Audio entertainment system, and Outback Roof console with a pair of Uniden UHF Radios and of course Gotya Covered Canvas Seat covers on all the seats.

This season, thanks to the guys from Isuzu Ute Australia, our guest presenters will be getting around in the very capable and powerful brand new 2017 Isuzu MUX.

This one is the LS-M model and runs the updated 3.0L turbo diesel engine. However it’s got a few extra bits added on just for kicks!

There is a 2in Tough Dog Suspension Lift, 265/75 BFG K02 All Terrain Tyres on 17in Boss Offroad Alloy Rims. Up front is a TJM Signature Series Alloy bar with underbody protection. This comes complete with 9000lb Torq winch, Great White GEN 2 LED Spotlights and the new Uniden UHF antenna.

Up on the roof is the spare tyre, mounted to a Yakima Platform Rack, an Oztent side awning and some Thunder Auto LED work lights and a Great White LED Light bar

Inside the MUX cops canvas seat covers from the team at GotYaCovered. There is a set of Black Widow Drawers and a 40L Snomaster fridge in the back and under the bonnet a second battery from the team at Betta Batteries.

This truck goes everywhere the big trucks go and does it in comfort and style!

Camera Crew Isuzu DMax

This season our camera crew are getting around in an Isuzu D-Max dual cab and this is anything but standard. This thing has to be one of the most well kitted out D-Max’s in the country.

The key to this vehicles success is the custom built Norweld canopy mounted on the back, this has been designed with camera slides, battery storage and more. Jamie and the JTS crew have fitted a pair of 130AH lead crystal batteries and a Redarc BMS charging system along with a 2000W Redarc investor system and a full compliment of LED lighting and 240v power outlets. Best of all, it’s designed to be able to be lifted off in between shoots to free up the vehicle to run around town duties.

The team at TJM have fitted an Outback Bullbar and underbody protection, side bars and side rails along with an Airtec Snorkel and a 9000lb Torq winch. A pair of Great White GEN 2 Led spotlights take residence on the front bar along with a Uniden Ariel.

The suspension on this vehicle is a serious bit of kit, as the vehicle is simply very very heavy, especially when loaded with cameras gear. The team at Tough Dog have fitted a 50mm lift kit with 500kg rear leaf springs and foam cell shocks to handle the punishment.

A pair of TJM Awnings and a Great White LED Lightbar are mounted to the canopy roof rack and a pair of Thunder Auto work lights help the boys see in the dark. A TJM RB6 rear bar sorts towing duties and offers some great protection to the canopy when the going gets tough.

Traction is handled through a set of BFG KM2 mud terrain tyres in 275/65R17 and these are mounted to a set of Boss Wheels 17in alloys.

Under the bonnet however is where this D-Max gets some serious power. A HPDiesel custom front mount intercooler and catch can start the party and thanks to a 3in Roo Systems exhaust and custom flash tune this Dmax gets up and boogies.

Inside the cab is a custom Growl Audio entertainment system, Uniden 8060S UHF radio, Outback Systems roof console, Satphone shop Iridium GO Satellite phone and Hema HN7 GPS Mapping. Add to this custom canvas and denim seat covers from Gotyacovered and at least a few bottles of Sailor Jerries in the back seat.

This is one vehicle that is built to work and work hard!

This season Ricko is towing the all new Parkes 13 from the team at Ezytrail. This is a tough as nails Offroad Caravan built to handle anything.

This trailer weighs in at under 1800kg and has all the fruit needed to tour this country in comfort.

Ricko has added a set of BFG KM2 Mud tyres to the trailer along with a Snomaster Fridge, a Stone stomper stone guard, McHitch and a whole lot more.

Inside the trailer Ricko has his stash of NRL State of Origin DVD’s the ones where NSW won from the 1940’s along with an electric blanket, yep thats right for when he gets a bit chilly.

This trailer has done some tough tracks so far and it is still rolling so make sure you take a closer look if you are thinking of experiencing the great outdoors in comfort.
